Website Design and Development: Highlands College

Ingram Image had the opportunity in early 2011 to work with the Highlands College staff at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama to create their temporary home for their new University. We were extremely excited to receive the opportunity to work with them in the second half of 2011 when they needed their full website designed and developed.

The needs and objectives of the full website were much more complex because of the need for student information (SIS) integration, which would help students and employees manage their schedules, tuition, classes, grades, transcripts, etc.

We designed a fresh, attractive web concept that represented their institution in a professional manner and then teamed up with Wes Thompson and his team at 38Pages to integrate an Expression Engine CMS. We were also able to integrate Populi SIS into the website, meeting the objective of a streamlined web presence and management system.

Lastly, Highlands College wanted to integrate their attendance management into the SIS, which we were able to deliver via an iPhone App that scans the student’s ID’s and syncs up with Populi. Now Highlands College employees have a simple, time-saving method of managing student attendance.

We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this project, and want to thank Denny Hodges, Mark Pettus, David Russell and the entire Highlands College staff for the opportunity. Much credit is due to the team of talented guys over at 38Pages for their hard work to develop the website and program the iPhone App as well.
